So... I was all set to put out the newsletter last week when...le poof!...my computer went down. It didn't take long to realized that, yes indeedy, this was yet another major crash. Something about how I was suddenly missing a critical system file. Sigh... And why do my computers always crash? Nobody seems to know. Unstable software? Maybe. The fact that I spend my researching days perusing all kinds of seedy and decidedly un-wholesome sites? Not likely, but I don't have any better answers, either. Suffice it to say I've learned to back up my material regularly. Which is how I survived after we had to wipe one drive and reinstall Windows. Unfortunately, I did lose my email, every last bit of it. Two years of meticulously categorized and cross-referenced emails about subscribers, orders, editors, writers, etc. (Including my inbox, so if you haven't heard from me it's because I'd saved your email there to reply to later. Please resend!) Could have been worse. I could have lost everything; every last shred of data, like I did after the fire two years ago. So I really do consider myself lucky :) But I sure would like my email back. If any of you know anything about the back-up function on XP Pro, please give me a holler. I thought I was being good by backing up all my docs and settings onto my desktop and then onto a cd, but when I try to do a restore with the wizard, I get "no entries found," even though the backup file is there. Do any of you computer experts have any ideas? On the plus side, I've been working hard on the Sex-Writer.com site and it is - no kidding this time! - almost live! I've got over 50 market listings added as well as over two dozen articles and Q and A's by editors and writers, and I'm uploading more every day. If you all cross your fingers for me and pray that the computer gods smile on me, I should have the whole thing live in less than a week. Feel free to take a look - here - and let me know what you think of it so far. On a similar note, I finally got my order page configured with a shopping cart system so the whole thing is now completely secure. Several of you have been asking for just such a system and I don't blame you. But now you can pay via PayPal or Visa or MasterCard - American Express won't affiliate with "adult" sites anymore, go figure - and rest assured that your info is, indeed, safe. Plus that whole shopping cart thing is just too cool...:) Now, enough blathering and onto the newsletter... We've got an especially huge issue today, including a great article on writing for the niche "Breast Expansion" market by Crystal Canyon and a review of "Smoldering Embers" By Cynthia Perkins, from Kevin Tipple. Plus one of our readers sent in some information on a paying market called "Watching the Wife," we've got some excellent Goings On and I answer a question about whether or not you should keep your porn writing and your more mainstream writing identities separate. If I've missed something - there may have been more Goings On and I could swear I had another question from one of you that I was going to answer - just give me a yell and I'll get it in next issue. As usual, enjoy the newsletter and please keep in touch! Katy

For most writing, I focus on stripping my words down to the bare minimum. I want to say what’s important, clearly, with the fewest words. But what helps me in the average market is a real hindrance to a BE story. The BE, or Breast Expansion, story is just that. A self-contained story revolving around a woman’s expanding breasts. But as simple as it sounds, there are a few key rules to the form. Stick To The Format
Excuses, Excuses
Play Nice
Say It Again, Sam
Think Like A Guy
A Whole New World
Recently, my son came into the office wearing a sweater that no longer fit. It was so old and tight, one of the buttons had cracked in half. "PERFECT," I thought, and included it in my current story. I was certain that this little bit of realism would improve my story. I even hoped that someday, somewhere, one of my readers would see a cracked button and find it strangely arousing. But in BE stories, buttons don't crack. It's not possible, in the BE world. My editor cut the scene and replaced it with something a BE reader would find more plausible. When this happens to you, resist the mighty urge to send your editor the cracked button, taped to a 3X5 card, as proof that buttons really do crack. Think back over the rules of BE, and focus. "One hand is for the book. One hand is for, well, you know what it's for," he told me. "If a reader has to stop what he's doing and use one of those hands to scratch his head, we've lost him." Good advice for all of us smut writers, no matter what the audience. What Ed Says, Goes

Burning Angel
I am looking for intelligent and creative male and female writers, interested in contributing erotic fiction to a progressive amateur porn-site. I'm looking for sexy, humorous, and well- written titillating stories to improve the literary content. If you're not a fiction writer, I'm also looking for people to contribute thought provoking articles concerning the politics of pornography, ie, the artistic merit or lack of in the projected images, issues dealing with feminism, etc. Please do not answer to this add unless you are a dedicated writer who feels they can help me raise the bar on pornography. I am looking for people who can offer me more then the typical 'I caressed her milky white breasts,` or 'stroked his hard bulging cock` garbage found all over the net. Rather then send a resume, and then have me write you back to tell you if you are 'hired,` send me a 1-4 page erotic story you'd like to have published on my website, BurningAngel.com. Along with the story, send a brief and informal cover letter, telling me a bit about yourself, why you want to do this, what kinds of books you like to read, and what previous writing experience you've had. After I read your story (and I promise, I will read all the submissions) I will contact you to tell you if I liked what I read. If I accept the piece, then you will receive a small payment of $10 a story, a rate I promise to increase as the website gains more popularity, and I thus have more money to give. You can publish the story under whatever name you want, and yes, you can send me material that has been published elsewhere. If you are interested in writing nonfiction, email me with a proposed idea you'd like to write about. Burning Angel is a fairly new online publication I am looking to expand, so I really need some open minds who would like to help. Look at www.BurningAngel.com and get a basic idea of what my business is about. If you're interested in contributing, contact me at Joanna@Burningangel.net. Thanks! ---

E. L. Publications
These stories are illustrated with black and white line illustrations, and are published in print (rather than electronically). We are currently seeking to hire freelance writers of giantess growth erotica and breast expansion erotica. Job applicants must: be skilled at writing in one or both of these genres, follow the editor's outline/instructions, and deliver commissioned work in a timely, reliable manner. IMPORTANT -- In the likely event that the applicant is unfamiliar with these genres: applicants should expect to receive instruction as to the specific criteria pertaining to that genre, and must be willing to make as many changes to their work as necessary, until they have "conquered the learning curve" for that genre. These fetish genres are, by definition, highly specific, so they must be written with great attention to detail. Therefore, the uninitiated should not expect to "dash off" stories in their usual manner. All stories are approximately 8000 words in length, and are commissioned as "works for hire" -- that is, the work and all attendant copyrights are purchased outright and owned exclusively by E.L. Publications, at a flat rate of $150 per story. The author agrees to not disclose nor distribute the work for hire in any way. E.L. Publications reserves the right to edit as we see fit. If you are amenable with the above conditions/ requirements and wish to apply, please email one or more brief examples of your work, to: trowelfraz@lycos.com IMPORTANT: Please do not compose an entire story for submission; examples should not be finished stories, but are only to serve as samples of the writer's craft in the genres mentioned above; i.e.- at least one entire page devoted to a description of a giantess growth and/or breast expansion "growth sequence". If you should have further questions please feel free to email me. Thank you, Ed Lundt, Editor,

Ben licked his lips and his eyes were glued to me as he unbuttoned his shirt, removed his jacket and pants, and laid them neatly across the chair. He took his time as he was savoring the view and he loved to tease me by building up anticipation. My legs still in the air, I spread them for a fuller view and ran my hands down around my butt, tracing the contours of my pussy as I admired Ben’s taut physique, glimmering in the candlelight, while he removed his boxers and socks.” Just a small sample of the strong writing found in this very enjoyable book with the subtitle of “Hot Erotic Stories And Sex Tips To Light A Couple’s Fire.” The book is specifically geared towards monogamous couples that are seeking to keep the erotic spark going in the relationship. This book blends erotic fiction along with practical advice to enhance the relationship on many levels and does it very well. The above quote comes from a short story titled ‘Divine Oral Pleasures.” One of the longer (by page length) short stories found in the book, the piece revolves around a woman who goes to seduce her husband while he is at a conference. She arrives, seduces him and provides oral pleasure, which he gratefully reciprocates. The story is told from her viewpoint in first person form and, along with being very graphic, is also quite romantic. And that is the really neat thing about the fiction in this book. The stories, which make up about two thirds of the book in varying lengths, are told in the first person viewpoint from either a male or a female perspective. In each case, the relationship depicted is open and loving with absolutely no coercion involved. Just sheer pleasure for the main character and the partner. The stories run the gamut from anal, to toys, to role-playing and anything and everything is written with a romantic notion in mind. Some of the stories are slightly edgier than others but, depending on your personal level of experience, may appear quite tame. Another strong example is from the short story “Imagine” where the romance and openness between the couple depicted leads to the following scene. “My cock is hard as a rock from watching you and you come over to my chair and run your tongue up and down the sides of my shaft and then over my head. You go down to the base and bite slightly and then suck upwards with deep suction. Giving me just a tease, you walk back to the woman. "Paula leaned close to me and whispered in my ear, “The other woman lies on the bed and spreads her legs open for me. I go back to her and she lifts her hips up to my mouth and I spread her pussy lips open for you to see. I lick on her clit and probe my tongue in and out of her, over and over, until her body is twitching and writhing in ecstasy as she comes.” The author, drawing on her many years of experience in the field, manages to blend some great fiction with practical advice in the last third of the book. The advice comes across as plain old common sense but at the same time, is written in a compassionate caring way. Her main theme in this section is that each partner has to ask for what he or she wants and that the other partner should be receptive to those wants and desires. At the same time, if something is just not working for either partner, than that idea should be dumped and the partners should move on and try something else. While experimentation agreeable to both partners in encouraged, romance and fantasy are also strongly encouraged in this section as well as in the fiction section. As noted in the introduction, this book is specifically designed for couples in a monogamous relationship that are seeking to keep things erotic. This book is well worth the time to read, as well as trying to put some of the ideas depicted into practice. It is also a great example for writers as to how to combine both erotic fiction elements and non-fiction elements to produce a great book for many different readers.

E-mail: katptacek@yahoo.com =========================================== The Internet provides many outlets for writers of erotica. Unfortunately, not many pay for content. There are newsgroups devoted to adult fiction, but, because they are simply bulletin boards, they only provide a forum for displaying one's efforts for a brief period in a public arena. There are many porn sites that post erotic stories, but they do not pay a penny. While most have separate lists for different acts, such as anal, groups, public sex, etc., few have a common theme throughout the site. One exception is called Watching The Wife. The common theme here is the cuckold husband, the slut wife, the wife watcher, the whore wife, infidelity, group sex, situations in which a husband observes his wife having sex with other men. Hosted by Lucky Guy, this subscription website pays its writers based on readership. The more popular an author is, the more he/she makes. Like other sites, this one breaks its central theme down into subcategories: Bi, CremePie [sic], Gangbang, Groups, I Like to Watch, Racial, and Submissive. Certain subjects are taboo -- torture, pedophilia, bestiality, physical abuse, mind control, and incest. Lucky states on the opening page, "We love our women," and stories should show love and affection. Think romance for men, with a generous helping of sexual detail. Stories posted during a month are grouped together in the seven categories listed above, with 80 to 90 new ones each month. They are also listed in master lists containing all stories for each classification. A separate Authors Page lists the works of each writer who has five or more stories on the site by category, title, and month of initial posting. If an author so desires, an e-mail link may be included to allow readers to send fan mail. Each author who has five or more stories on the site also receives a free pass to the site. Payment is based on unique hits. A unique hit is the first time an individual reader accesses a story. Reloads and multiple hits from the same reader are ignored. Hits are counted by SexTracker, an independent tracking service. This eliminating cheating by a writer who logs onto his own works to build hit counts and by the webmaster. The rate is ten cents per unique hit. Checks are mailed monthly to those who have earned $50 or more. If a writer's hits do not qualify for payment, the hits are added to the following month's readership until the minimum is attained. Breaking a story into parts is allowed. This is an excellent way to build hits. Generally, the opening part gets the most hits, with subsequent parts getting fewer. Building hits for second and following sections depends on a writer's skill in ending one with a hook that encourages a reader to continue to the next. There does not appear to be any fixed length for works. The length in kilobytes is posted with the titles. There are stories as short as 4k and as long as 105k. A new author is required to sign an agreement giving the webmaster the right to reject any submission or to change a title if it conflicts with another already on the site. Copyright is retained by the author who may publish his/her works anywhere else without obligation or restriction. I have been writing for this site for two and a half years, and have over a hundred stories and/or segments posted. Fan mail has not been extensive; I have only received a half dozen comments. The principal drawback is the monthly listing of current submissions. Most readers do not go beyond the list for the present month. I seem to have built up a following which is evidenced by a consistent number of hits in the first month that a story is posted. Most of my older works still attract a few hits each month, which now provide the bulk of my income from this website. A steady flow of revenue does require at least one new story each month. For more information, contact luckyguy@watchingthewife.com, or visit the site at watchingthewife.com =========================================== I write for a variety of publications - most of them decidedly mainstream. I enjoy writing my smutty stuff, and am thrilled when it sells, but I worry - will a sexy reputation make it impossible for me to sell to all the parenting/business/women's magazines that are my bread & butter? Was my mom right, all along? Will no decent editor have me if he finds out where I've been? Or, in more practical terms, should I leave the sexier stuff I write off of my standard resume, or can I mention "Also writes adult fiction under the pen name "...."? Thanks, Christine --- Ah, a dilemma that only a porn writer could face! But one that I've wrestled with for years. I have over 300 porn-writing credits to my name but only about a dozen non-porn credits. So when I'm querying, say, Woman's Day, I invariably struggle with whether or not to combine the two. The answer, for me, usually depends on the market. I would probably skip the porn credits for Woman's Day but would probably include them for an "edgier" publication like Salon.com. An editor really shouldn't care, a published writer is a published writer, after all. But porn is a controversial subject and you never know whethe the editor you're dealing with is going to have an anti-porn bias. So in general, yes, I think it's wise to keep your identities somewhat separate. That said, however, I do like that phrase, "Also writes adult fiction under..." That could definitely work with some markets. Then, if the editor is open to the subject and wants to know which markets you've written for, you can let him or her know. But if not, you probably haven't offended anyone's sensibilities... --- Send me your questions! I'll answer the most common ones here, and if I don't know the answer, I'll do my best to find a pro who does. (Of course, failing that, I'll ask y'all for help...)
