I started writing erotica by accident. Many years ago, I decided I would make big money writing for confession magazines. With my Writer's Market and the oldest computer known to man, I wrote an "as told to" story called "His Feminine Side." It was about a man who was a cross-dresser and later decided he really wanted to be a woman. Needless to say, he got the operation and the two wives lived happily ever after. It was a work of art! I sent it off and started on my next masterpiece, "I Was Addicted To Sex!" I was knee-deep in "Addicted" when I got the very prompt rejection for "His Feminine Side" -- and that was that. "Addicted" sat in the giant writing folder waiting to be finished, but alas, it was forgotten -- until "Themestream", that is. I was turned on to the dime-a-click wonder and posted every piece of poo I had. "His Feminine Side" was a big hit and my inbox filled with letters of praise and encouragement for this couple that stuck it out and survived. Then, I rediscovered "I Was Addicted To Sex!" It was too long, so I split it up into three parts, figuring I would wrap it up in one or two more "episodes". People loved it! Men and women alike. It ended up being the first e-serial on Themestream. I got emails and more emails. My favorites were from readers that asked me if the addicted Laura was actually me. It thrilled me that this serial seemed real enough to provoke this kind of response. Now, the fact that only MEN wanted to know if "I" was the insatiable Laura should have been a red flag, telling me that these guys were probably just horny and hoping to hop on MSN for some cyber action. But I was too busy looking for my giant shoehorn so I could get my fat head through the doorway. Now, here's the kicker... There was NO sex in the story. OK, a couple of boob gropes, and obvious references to it, but no actual sex. How fun! I decided to re-write it to become a best-selling novel and to actually add the erotic scenes, but I didn't want it to be "dirty." I enjoyed the challenge of writing sex scenes without the obvious naughty words. When I first started getting truly serious about it, I had no idea that there were so many kinds of sex! I knew the basics, of course -- I mean, I DO have three kids, but up until a few months ago I thought BDSM was some kind of kick ass internet connection and Vanilla was that brown stuff I like to sniff a little too much before adding it to cookie dough. I still don't know what Pansexual is, but I think it has something to do with that half-man, half-horse guy that plays that little flute thingy. But I was having fun writing and experimenting. Soon it was time to get some opinions on my writing and let me tell you, I was SO embarrassed to send it to even my good friend for an opinion. I kept thinking, 'Oh, man! She is going to think I am this twisted pervert!' (But as I meet more and more writers in this genre, I look at my stuff and still think 'I am totally boring!') One day, while doing a quickie thirty minute writing session with a good friend, I came up with a story about a waitress who gives her favorite customer a little "tip" of her own. The story was good, but the title was great! "Serviced With A Smile" was born. I asked my writing list if anyone would like to do a quick read thru of a naughty story and met another dear friend and (love to say), my own personal editor. I try to write "thoughtful and intelligent" erotica. I try to add emotion and feeling to the obvious sex but there are some things you just can't describe with flowery metaphors. There are some things you can't get around. Take "balls" for instance. You can't get around balls. It's difficult to make them anything more interesting than, well, balls. My "personal editor" gave me some great suggestions, but we got to the part with holding and rolling, etc. She wanted me to clarify what was going on, but I was groping for something a little better than plain old balls. She said, "How about orbs?" I said, "Orbs? It sounds like either he has elephantitis or is plagued by paranormal lights masquerading as his genitals. " She said, "Well, then balls will have to work. If you use "orbs" everybody would be clambering about what was wrong with their man cuz he only had balls down there." Needless to say, the man kept his balls. You see there is a fine line that one straddles between porn and erotica. Some say they are one and the same. I disagree, but that is only my opinion; writing naughty stories is simply in the mind of the gland holder! You might want to take a whack at it, yourself. Happy humping! --- C.C. Or order here - http://www.KatyTerrega.com/writersorderform.html ======================================= “It’s been said that lives have been changed by Adrian Hunter’s words. Some beg to differ. Others simply beg.” With that kind of interesting and amusing quote from the back cover, the expectations are high. Fortunately, as he did in his novel co-written with Chelsea Shepard, Once Bitten, he delivers. Crash Your Party Dress is an anthology of short stories that are well written and where the sex becomes secondary as the characters evolve and deal with their own obsessions. Why they have these needs is irrelevant and more to the point is the quest for pleasure and fulfilling the inner longings. The anthology is artfully split between a long multi chaptered novella with the title of “Isabel” and an assortment of short stories. “Isabel” opens the work and is the tale of one woman’s obsession turned into orgasmic reality. Isabel always was interested in bondage and through the computer, is introduced to various individuals in a bondage chat room. One individual in particular seems to be more interested in her as a person and his name is Ron. Soon, she agrees to meet him for a week of pleasure and from the moment she steps into his world she is under his total control. The week becomes an incredible experience as she learns what it is to totally submit to him and his friends for a week of pleasure, pain and humiliation. But, why stop at a week? Then, there are the short stories including an incredibly arousing tale that is open to the reader’s interpretation by Chelsea Shepard. Titled “Sweet Butterfly” it tells the tale of what happens to one young woman when she innocently suggests to her male friend that they have some bondage fun. He takes her to a hothouse and after removing her clothes, ties her up in an assortment of metal chains. Then he liberally applies a coat of a sweet smelling jell to her breasts and between her legs. Then he hoists her to dangle at the top of the hothouse in the moonlight. Soon a butterfly spots her and she hates bugs. Her fear climbs as the butterfly makes a straight track for her and lands on her jell covered left breast. “Its velvet-soft wings flap across my bare skin, and a faint moan escapes my gagged mouth. The butterfly takes no notice as it lands on my nipple and begins to suck it, or do whatever butterflies do. The flowery fragrance, the light, and by the look of it, the taste of the potion makes me the perfect bug attraction.” Helpless in the moonlight, more and more butterflies are drawn to her and land to taste her. While she is being terrorized in one sense by the wave of butterflies that keep on coming at the same time, she also feels the orgasmic bliss as they keep touching and tasting her. Is this the way madness lies? These are just two of the very arousing stories in this anthology. The writing is detailed and intense and the whole work is more about the mental musings of the characters and less about the sexual aspects of the acts. Like the very enjoyable novel, Once Bitten (reviewed in the February 2002 edition of this newsletter), Crash Your Party Dress explores the human in each of us and the wants and desires that fuel our daily existence. This anthology is extremely well written and available through booksellers and Xlibris at www.Xlibris.com as well as the home website, www.adrianhunter.com ************************************************** If so, please consider making a Order your voluntary subscription Here ============================================

Scorch: Southern Erotica Anthology --- "Behind The Apron - The Secret Lives of Wives and Mothers" is an erotic anthology that takes a look at the sexy, secret and sometimes strange intimate lives of wives and mothers. The anthology is being compiled by C.C. O'Calinan, known for the "Addicted to Sex" series. For guidelines and payment rates, please point your browser to http://www.behindtheapron.org --- Sacred Exchange: Stories of Transcendence and Spirituality in Dominance and Submission (Ed. note: At press time, the contact email for this market did not work. It should be fixed soon, but until then, use sfmayfair@yahoo.com) Edited by Lisabet Sarai and S.F. Mayfair Published by Blue Moon Books. GUIDELINES We are seeking submissions for an anthology of erotic stories on the theme of transcendence and spirituality in the practice of Dominance and Submission. Sacred Exchange is to be published by Blue Moon, tentatively scheduled for the spring of 2003. Many writers have noted that the physical aspects of D/s, the whips, bonds, and other paraphernalia, do not represent the core meaning and value of this type of relationship. For example, Molly Devon and Philip Miller, in their classic Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns, discuss how the bond of trust between dominant and submissive can lead to emotional and spiritual revelations. Anita Phillips' A Defense of Masochism compares the masochist's willingness to lose all boundaries, giving them up to the dominant, as essentially the same as the mystical and/or religious craving to be joined with the deity or the universe. The stories in this anthology will explore the transcendent, spiritual, or magickal aspects of the power exchange in D/s relationships. We are looking for stories of ritual, communion, telepathy, devotion, dreams, commitment, or intense personal change. We would like to include pieces written from both the dominant and submissive perspectives, and examining all combinations of genders. The stories may include physical BDSM elements, but the focus should be on the psychic, spiritual, supernatural, or emotional dimension. Stories should be literary quality erotica, with well-defined plots, characters, and settings. Stories should be between 2500-6000 words. We will accept either email or hard copy submissions. Please email your contribution to submit@lisabetsarai.com. The story should be included within the body of the email in ASCII text. Attachments will not be opened. Hard copy submissions should be typed or printed single-sided on 8 x 11 inch paper, double spaced. Mail hard copy submissions to: Lisabet Sarai
Manuscripts will be considered disposable unless SASE with appropriate return postage is included with the submission. All stories must be submitted with the following information: Legal name; Name under which you publish (if different); Postal address; Telephone number; Email address; Title of work; and Word count. The DEADLINE is June 15, 2002. All submissions will be acknowledged by email. Acceptance notifications will be provided by September 30, 2002. Materials previously published are acceptable as long as the author owns the print publication rights to the story. If your story has been previously published on the web or elsewhere, please include this information in your submission. The usual caveats apply: no sex participants under 18, no non-consensual violence, no incest. (This is for your protection and ours.) Authors whose work is accepted will receive $150 payment, plus at least one copy of the anthology. Payment will be made upon publication. Please address any questions about the anthology to Lisabet@lisabetsarai.com. ABOUT THE EDITORS Lisabet Sarai writes erotica for fun and self-enlightenment. So far, she has published two erotic novels, Raw Silk (Black Lace, 1999, Blue Moon 2002) and Incognito (Blue Moon, 2002).
